Highly commended in the junior category for the 'man-made world' theme.

Now in it’s seventh year, the Photography Competition is open to all students at the Merchant Taylors’ Associated Schools. This includes: Merchant Taylors’ School Northwood, the four Merchant Taylors’ Schools in Crosby, St. John’s School, Foyle College, Wolverhampton Grammar School, The King’s School in Macclesfield, Wallingford School and St. Helen’s School.

The competition this year carried two themes; ‘Natural World’ and the Man Made World’. The photographs were judged in three different categories, which was comprised of, the junior category of years 1-8, senior category of years 9-13 and for the first time we have invited staff to submit their creative pieces.

This year we received over 250 entries and the judges had the very difficult task of selecting the winners. The judges involved were The Master (Mr Peregrine Massey), Mr Magill and Mr Armstrong. Finalists were chosen based on their technical ability, presentation and their interpretation of the suggested themes. They were particularly drawn to photographs that portrayed sense of narrative. To ensure the impartiality of the judging process, the names of the schools were removed from the photographs.

Thank you to all participants who entered, the company thoroughly enjoyed viewing such talented pieces and we look forward to next year’s competition.
