The London Guards is the only Army Reserve infantry regiment based entirely in London and recruits within the Greater London area

Hundreds of its soldiers have been deployed on active operational service during the past ten years in support of their regular counterparts; this has included deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan as well as providing support to the United Nations, contributing to short-term training teams and providing assistance closer to home for major events such as the London Olympics in 2012.

The Guard’s links with the Merchant Taylors can be traced back to 1888 through the association with the City of London Fusiliers, now (City of London Fusiliers) Company, The London Guards.
